Meet Michael “Taco” Jimenez
Taco came to Subaru, 19 years ago, with previous experience as a technician for Honda and Acura. After several years as a Subaru Line Technician, in 2003, he talked with Dave Eastty, our Service Manager, about the possibility of becoming a Service Advisor. Since then, he has become a key member of our service team.
If you already know Taco, you know that he is our go-to advisor for problem solving in the Long Subaru Service Department! Having been dubbed, the “Quarterback” by a co-worker, Taco says, “I do my best. I don’t have the answers for everything but if I don’t, I find them. It helps that I can depend on Dave Eastty who has 30 plus years experience with Subaru or Jerry Costa, our experienced Shop Foreman to help me out.”
When asked about his experiences with customers throughout the years, he said, “Our Subaru customers that we have here are phenomenal. They’re like family. I treat them the way I want to be treated. I never press anybody to do service they don’t have to do, yet I want to keep their car safe and I want to make sure the customer understands the safety concerns.” He went on to say “I always tell customers to maintain their Subaru the way Subaru wants it maintained and they won’t have any problems. We have a few customers who’ve followed this advice: one took his Subaru to 477,000 miles and the other purchased his Subaru new in 1999 and to date has 529,000 miles on it. He recently purchased a new Subaru but passed this one on to his son!” Great advice, Taco!
Taco and his wife Lucia live in Moosup, Connecticut enjoying time at home with their two Chihuahuas, Mia and Phoebe. They’re very proud of their only son, Michael, Jr who is an accomplished hair stylist, with his own salon called “Luxe and Dahlia” located in Canterbury, Connecticut. Taco and Lucia are also part of a Gourmet Group with a few other couples who every three months get together to create a fabulous meal. It’s always a great day when he shares some of his delicious chili with his Subaru family. Taco has a variety of interests including fresh and salt water fishing, creating wood crafts with his wife and during football season he runs a Fantasy League (but never wins). He is also a proud fan of the Broncos, winners of the 2016 Super Bowl! Go Broncos!
Thank you Taco for your long time invaluable contribution to the goal of our Service Department, which is to keep our customers safe, comfortable and satisfied in their Subaru!
