Among the awards presented where staff recognitions for individuals who have remained committed to working with New Hope Inc. for five, ten, and fifteen years! Awards where presented by Kimberly Thomas, Executive Director & President. Time was also dedicated to discussing the vitally important need for the staff and volunteers to take advantage of programs designed specifically for them. Many times those helping domestic violence survivors can start to suffer from the stress. New Hope Inc. is aware of this need as well and takes care to address it with proper support.
During the 2011-2012 Subaru Share-the-Love event, Long Subaru decided to reach out to New Hope Inc. as part of our growing community commitment program. We were able to speak with them about their ongoing 'Drive for Five' cell phone collection. Long Subaru became a local drop-off point and by spreading the word to our family and friends, were able to collect over 20 used and new cell phones in just the first month. These items are either refurbished for emergency use or used for parts. Our General Manager, Scott Barry, also decided to dedicate funds from each new Subaru sold through our busy holiday season to New Hope Inc. The funds were donated to our local Webster branch. As a result, New Hope Inc. decided to invite Long Subaru to their 33rd Annual Meeting as a guest and presented us with the Above and Beyond Award citing the initiative taken by Long Subaru to support their program and to create our own for their benefit. We were proud to be among those present and for the privilege to work with New Hope Inc.
Our award is awaiting the finish of our ongoing showroom remodeling before it can take its proper place on display.
While New Hope Inc. will continue to remain committed to continual improvement of their facilities and the array of services they offer to domestic abuse survivors, they cannot do so without the support of business and individuals in the community. Long Subaru is proud to be partnered with such a dynamic community-based advocacy program!
