Emily Dickinson; American Poet
Born in Amherst Massachusetts on December, 10, 1830, Emily Dickinson was the middle child of three siblings. She spent many of her days studying at the Amherst Academy (now Amherst College), where she was inspired by her principal’s poetry, thus sparking her love for American literature. Although few of her works were published during her life time, Emily Dickinson is known for her influence of 20th-century poetry, as well as her strength in writing style and literary voice. She is an American woman of history who continues to inspire educators and writers..
