The first event, held on March 22nd, focused on the essentials of vehicle maintenance. Participants had the opportunity to investigate the new 2025 Forester engine. Alana, a skilled Long Subaru technician, led the session by teaching attendees how to change air filters, fill oil, and top up windshield washer fluid. Alana provided clear, easy-to-understand instructions, making sure everyone was comfortable performing the tasks themselves. She also demonstrated how to change windshield wipers, an often overlooked yet important skill to have, especially during unpredictable weather conditions.
The second event, held on March 29th, focused on vehicle safety—another essential skill to help women feel confident when on the road. This time, Alana teamed up with Jody, another experienced Long Subaru technician, to lead the session. Together, they taught attendees how to jump-start a car safely, with each participant getting the chance to practice and build their confidence in handling jumper cables.
The event also included an important lesson on changing a tire. Alana and Jody broke down the steps, showing everyone how to safely and efficiently change a tire in case of an emergency. Participants were thrilled to gain the knowledge and confidence to handle a flat tire, in case an emergency arises.
One of the participants shared this heartfelt reflection: "As a Car Bar participant last weekend, I can't say enough about the quality of this program. It was informative, fun, and an excellent way to connect with the wonderful team at Long Subaru. Do yourself a favor and attend! I will be back for future events!"
This feedback truly captures the spirit of the Women's Car Bars—educational, inspiring, and an opportunity to build meaningful connections.
Both the Women’s Car Bars were a tremendous success, encouraging a sense of capability among the participants. Long Subaru is proud to continue offering opportunities like the Women's Car Bar, which not only celebrates the achievements of women but also provides valuable education and hands-on experience in a supportive and welcoming environment.
