Long Subaru continues to prepare for our 3rd annual plant-based event this month, we are excited to have The Planted Pine join us for the first time. The Planted Pine creates handmade, beautiful, one-of-a-kind planted plaques and is always working on new ideas.
Amber is the creator of The Planted Pine. It all started with her desire to find a way to display plants beautifully on her wall. She found that the typical glass cabinets and racks, although pretty, were pricey and would take up too much space.
Amber decided to put her two passions together, woodworking and plants. She has worked in the carpentry trade since high school. She went right to work drawing something beautifully aesthetic, easy to use, space saving and most importantly affordable! With her passion and skill, The Planted Pine was crafted.
She begins her process by drawing a design and then using a scroll saw to cut it out (watch a preview here). She then has 3 stages. First Amber sands by hand the piece for a smooth finish, then stains and seals the wood to protect it from water and lastly, she adds a plant and some finishing details.
