In honor of Women’s History Month, Long Subaru hosted its first ever ‘Women’s Car Bar’. This was an interactive learning session complimented by a relaxed and engaging atmosphere. Long Subaru’s event was geared towards making women guests feel empowered to understand the basics of how the dealership departments work with them, their vehicle maintenance, and try some hands-on repairs themselves.

Kickstarting the event was Long Subaru’s Marketing Director, Sara, acting as ‘bartender’ serving up delicious house made sodas, iced tea, and cold brew delivered via local women-owned business The Rose Room Café. Participants enjoyed the individually packed salad, snacks, coffee cake, and cookies that are
made fresh at the café’s in-town location.

Long Subaru pulled into their enclosed service bay the adorable CowTrek, aka a ‘Long Original’ Subaru Crosstrek with custom cow-patterned decals. Then the women from the different dealership departments shared their knowledge with community guests in an open discussion. Alexis, the event coordinator started the conversation by introducing the agenda and welcoming all.

Sales Consultant & Love Promise Champion Carrille, did a quick vehicle walk around and introduction highlighting the many safety features on a Subaru. There were a lot of questions and answers about the process of looking for the right car. One big concern was driving in the snow and Carrille passed on knowledge about Subaru’s unique all-wheel drive system and how other cars just cannot compare. The women attending learned about the X-mode feature in Subaru models and how it can help improve driving in slippery conditions and reviewing many of the personal settings.

Alana clearly explained how things might differ in different models as well as common errors that are made. Time was made for everyone attending to experience practicing these things under her supervision with lots of support and smiles along the way.

Service Advisor Abby then took over to speak about the importance of maintenance at specific time or mileage and her role of helping customers know the best route for taking care of their car. She presented and explained how Long Subaru’s service menu was designed to help customers keep track of their maintenance and how their service advisor’s oversight and experience can assist them in making repair decisions.

All women attending the car bar were gifted handmade glassware with the ‘Women’s Car Bar’ logo on them. Long Subaru’s event coordinator then had the opportunity to surprise guests with a drawing for a $50 gift certificate for service on their vehicle ending the evening with more Q&A and invitations to future events.
