How to know when it's time to charge your A/C

If you do need to charge your air conditioner, locate the low-side service port in your vehicle. Wipe away any dust with a clean rag, and then take off the cap from the low-side service port. From there, you can attach the charging hose and add the refrigerant and then charge the system. Remove the hose and check the service port cap before reinstalling. This will help you avoid any leaks from your air conditioner system.
