"Why does service seem more expensive at my dealer?"
That's a great question, one that we get asked from time to time. The short answer is many services are the same price or less! However, are there some services/repairs that are more expensive at a car dealer as compared to a local shop? The short answer is yes.
The reason we can say that our services are the same or less than other shops is that we go out and price some services so that we know if we are being competitive!
For example, we shopped around extensively when we priced our synthetic oil and filter change and as a result, it is one of the lowest around. In addition, we have a number of FREE services that we offer:
| BATTERY TESTING BRAKE INSPECTION TIRE PRESSURE RESET | OIL LEAK INSPECTION ALIGNMENT CHECK (WITH A PRINTOUT!) TIRE/STEERING/SUSPENSION INSPECTION |
You may ask at this point, "Which services might be more expensive?"
Some technical or large repairs may be a little bit more money, and for very good reasons;
1. One year - (upgradeable) warranty of all Subaru parts and labor-this warranty (one year/unlimited mileage) is good at hundreds of Subaru Dealers nationwide!
2. Our technicians are specifically trained by Subaru, so they know your car inside and out, problems that would perplex other shops are easy for us, as we also have access to Subaru's technical department, so solving any problem is possible!
3. The Subaru parts we install work perfectly, since they are identical to the original parts that were installed in your car at the factory! For example, you can purchase brakes form other shops a little cheaper than at a Subaru dealer, but what are you buying? It is a known fact that most (if not all) non-Subaru brakes WILL squeak when the brakes are applied! Subaru pads will not. More than that, Subaru brake pads will easily outlast the aftermarket brakes.
So, if you save some money, but have to change your brakes more often, and listen to them squeak, is it really worth it?
