Subaru Viziv 2 Concept

2014 Geneva Motor Show

Following in the tire tracks of Subaru's original Viziv unveiled last year in Geneva,  this one has four doors instead of two. The name stands for "vision for innovation" and it certainly sits well with the viewers.

AutoGuide calls it "a handsome high riding hybrid" in reference to the 20"inch tires and hybrid drivetrain that centers on a 1.6-liter boxer four-cylinder engine. The engine is augmented by a trio of electric motors, one up front and two out back to produce the essential Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive.

Incorporating the latest EyeSight system with stereoscopic cameras as well as an array of other sensors, the Viziv 2 features plenty of high-end technology.

Viziv 2's new look, which includes prominent new round driving lamps that "serve to emphasize the image of  an active crossover."

Highlighting Subaru's new design cues to be seen on the 2015 Subaru Legacy out later this year, the Viziv 2's  shoulder line gently rises from the front fenders to the tail lamps. The nose is squared off and the simplified clean side lines disguise the hidden back doors. Once the front butterfly doors open, they reveal a second body panel that lifts and slides from the rear fenders to reveal a set of back doors. "the Viziv 2 may go down as the best-disguised five-door ever." stated Car and Driver.
