Things To Do in Your Long Subaru
Davis Farmland
Davis Farmland
What to do on with the kids on a hot and humid summer day? Why Davis Farmland of course. Just an easy drive north to Sterling and you enter beautiful farm country. Even on a Friday afternoon when the temperature spiked at 97 degrees, there was a lovely breeze and plenty of shade available. Amazingly clean, especially within areas where the animals roam, it was great fun to wander through at our own pace and enjoy looking at the hens, bunnies, turtles, goats, peacock, etc.
Where else can you learn how to milk a goat and then sit and pet baby goats and lambs until they fall asleep (if they like you). Just watch out for the active ones who search you over for a piece of clothing to nibble! Don't worry, there's always a helpful staff member available to help you extricate yourself.
If you need a break from the petting and the heat, just walk over to the one-of-a-kind spray ground that was clearly a hit with everyone there.
Surrounded by shaded sitting areas, the spray ground is tons of fun for the kids with room for their parents to join in here and there. The car wash was probably the highlight, with kids covering themselves in foamy bubbles and then using the water cannons to rinse off.
There are a couple food areas as well, but we did not take advantage of them this trip. After raiding the gift shop and adding our choices for naming the new farm babies we decided to head home. In all it was a great way to enjoy the afternoon. We definitely intend to return when Davis Mega Maze is ready in late August!
