Roger, Collette and Amanda started the farm September 2002. They wanted to put animals back on the family homestead. Collette enjoys textiles and in one of her knitting books there was a big article on alpacas and the yarn from their fiber. Collette was quite interested. While attending a North American Alpaca show they met 'Emma', one of the alpacas from Staghorn Valley Alpacas in New York. That is where Emma's Acres Alpacas all started.
Come to Long Subaru's 3rd Annual Love-a-Pet Event and meet the Gage family in person. You'll love hearing their story and seeing the Alpaca Wool products. Alpacas produce one of the world's most luxurious fibers and come in more colors than any other fiber-producing animal. Last fall many of Long Subaru's employees benefited from the beautiful alpaca wool socks thanks to Collette and our GM Scott.
Roger & Collette always welcome visitors to their farm. Just contact them and they'll be happy to show you around!
