The success of BRZ sales is being experienced in all markets, with the latest being Australia. With only 201 BRZs allotted, Subaru Autralia decided it would sell its new rear-wheel-drive sports car exclusively online.

"This may well be a world first in terms of being able to complete the entire new car purchase process online," said Subaru Australia managing director Nick Senior.

When the 'Buy Now' button appeared on the Subaru Australia website on Monday July 16th at 12 noon it took only three hours before all the available BRZs had deposits and completed contracts. With a drive away price starting at $37,150AUD (approx. $38,145USD) this unique process temporarily brought down the website as a result of four times the usually traffic. However, customer's still experienced an average of 20 minutes to complete the entire process from choosing accessories, completing their contract and putting down the required $3000 deposit via credit card.

Orders are still being taken, however these will most likely not be filled until early 2013.
