Design Challenge asked automotive design studios to create a
highway patrol vehicle that meets the challenges of a specific region's
transportation and societal conditions in 2025.
To conceptualize a vehicle that would account for the needs of "dynamic urban environments", the SHARC is entirely automated and runs on renewable energy eliminating the
need for a large full-time highway patrol staff. With global collaboration among its design studios, the creative minds
at Subaru developed the cutting-edge SHARC as an affordable and
environmentally conscious highway patrol vehicle that meets Hawaii's
strict UltraGreen carbon-neutral environmental regulations.
