Motor Trend recently listed nine of the world's greatest performance cars in order of what made them the Best Driver's Car. This award is about more than just "numbers and straight-line performance" its about... well, put simply it's about whether the car is fun to drive!

Motor Trend spent hour after hour taking notes and exhaustively driving these exotic sport cars on all types of roads (nice work if you can get it !). Their results can be found online here, but I also provided the list below with prices for the models as tested...

9th Place: Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 - $403,695
8th Place: Jaguar XKR-S - $133,325
7th Place: Ford Shelby GT500 - 63,080
6th Place: Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 - $57,265
5th Place: McLaren MP4-12C - $267,545
4th Place: Subaru BRZ - $28,265
3rd Place: 2013 Nissan GT-R Black Edition - $107,600
2nd Place: Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series Coupe - $109,925
1st Place: Porsche 911 Carrera S - $123,840

As you can see, the 2013 Subaru BRZ wins in the price competition and it has most people asking why it was included with names like Lamborghini, Porsche, McLaren, AMG, Shelby, and Jaguar. Well, that's the beauty of this competition - it's not price nor pedigree that counts. It's the design. It's the grace and agility. It's the smile on Driver's face. It's as professional driver Randy Pobst says "Sweetheart of a car, this Subaru"!
