On Sunday, April 29th, the city of New Haven Connecticut will host their 46th Annual Cherry Blossom Festival in the Historic Wooster Square from 12 noon to 4:30. This celebration of spring includes the planting of 72 Yoshino Japanese Cherry Blossom trees, the tradition that started in 1973 by the New Haven Historic Commission. Every year since, there have been more than 10,000 visitors a year to come enjoy the flowers and local entertainment.

The festival includes an afternoon of flowers, free local music, a Family area including arts and crafts and face painting, as well as a shadow puppet show for the children. There will also be activities hosted by the New Haven Museum and the New Haven Public Library, and local food vendors will be available, too.

Local non-profits and over 30 artists and authors will also be at the festival with display tables explaining the historical significance of the Wooster Square.

The park is pet friendly, so even your furry friends can come for the fun! A whole area is dedicated to your pup from a water station to a treat station to make sure they are having a good time, too.

Enjoy a beautiful day in the park with loved ones and take the time to admire the beauty of spring this April at the 46th Cherry Blossom Festival!
