In response to the damages caused by this past weekend’s tornado, Long Subaru is donating $5,000 to the American Red Cross of Central Massachusetts. Our hearts are with those who were displaced and suffered damages.

According to the American Red Cross (ARC), Saturday’s storm put dozens of people out of their Webster homes. Sixteen ARC volunteers and two paid staff members responded immediately after the tornado hit late Saturday morning to begin client casework at the Webster Senior Center. In total, ARC volunteers provided emotional, practical and financial aid to 11 families and 43 individuals displaced.

Today, Monday, ARC volunteers are still on scene working with the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA officials) in Webster at a recovery center, where additional agencies have now convened to offer assistance to those affected.

Thank you to all our first responders! We are thankful to live, work, and serve in a community that is quick to respond in time of need.

Long Subaru is also hosting the American Red Cross this Wednesday, August 8th for an annual blood drive from 11am to 4pm. Walk-ins are welcome.
